NW Judd Parkway Extension

Fast Facts

Project # U-5317
Type: Parkway Extension
Affected Counties: Wake
Estimated Cost: $26,500,000

Description

The Town of Fuquay-Varina and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) plan to complete the loop around Fuquay-Varina by extending Judd Parkway a final 2.2 miles.

The roadway will be built partially on Wilbon Road and partially on a new location.

Construction will begin at the intersection of NC 42 (West Academy Street) and SW Judd Parkway. It will end at the intersection of NC 55 (North Broad Street) and Wilbon Road/Northeast Judd Parkway.

The extension will consist of a four-lane road with curb and gutter, a grassed median, four-foot bicycle lanes, and sidewalks.

The existing railroad crossing on Coley Farm Road will be closed, and an at-grade crossing will be added on the proposed NW Judd Parkway. Additionally, Washington Street will be extended to intersect with the proposed NW Judd Parkway. Bridge Street will be realigned to intersect with NW Judd Parkway at the current Three Meadows Road.

Property Takings

It is estimated that more than 50 parcels of land will be impacted by this project. Currently the DOT has set aside $6,550,000 for right-of-way takings. If your property will be affected, contact one of our attorneys (four of whom previously worked on behalf of the NCDOT) for a free case evaluation.

There are only a handful of attorneys in NC who practice eminent domain exclusively, and even fewer with NCDOT experience. We have several. That’s why its worth getting in touch with us for a free case evaluation.

Here’s how it works:

1) Tell us about your situation.

2) We research your property as needed, using DOT maps, our own technology, and experience to see the exact effects.

3) We let you know what we think a fair offer would be. This evaluation is free, and there’s no
pressure or obligation to hire us after.

But please don’t wait to act. Waiting can hurt your case, and the cost is the same: free.
