High House Road Intersection Improvements
Fast Facts
Project # C-5165
Type: Intersection Improvements
Affected Counties: Wake
Estimated Cost: $3,360,000
Description
In an effort to ease growing congestion and improve traffic flow and safety at the intersection of Cary Parkway and High House Road, the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) plans to make intersection improvements.
The design incorporates an additional left turn lane from each direction of High House Road, as well as the northbound Cary Parkway approach. An exclusive right turn lane will also be added in each of the four directions. Meandering sidewalks will replace those impacted by the widening, and streetscape enhancements will help to preserve and enhance intersection aesthetics.
Cary's landmark clocktower and brickwork on the corner near the McDonalds' will remain as is.
