Pete Brown Road Extension (Charlotte)

Fast Facts

Type: Road Extension
Affected Counties: Mecklenburg
Estimated Cost: TBD

The City of Charlotte plans to extend Pete Brown road from the existing dead end to Fox Point Drive/NC 115 and fill in the existing gap of Palustris Court.

The goal of the Pete Brown Road Extension is to create a second entrance/exit for the Oakbrook neighborhood, allowing for left-in and left-out access.

Currently, Oakrook residents have to make a u-turn at the median opening located on Pete Brown Road to go south on Old Statesville Road and as traffic has increased, this movement has become increasingly difficult. This should also improve response time for the Charlotte Fire Department.

Standard wooden pole street lighting and a traffic signal at the new intersection of NC115 and Pete Brown road are also part of the Charlotte Department of Transportation's plans.

The project was redesigned and adjustments to the schedule and budget have not yet been released.
