NC 107 Roadway Upgrade

Fast Facts

NCDOT TIP # R-4753
Project Type:
 Roadway Upgrade
Affected Counties:
 Jackson
Estimated Cost: $
 18,600,000

Description

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will begin upgrading a 4.04-mile section of N.C. 107. Construction will take place just north of Old Cullowhee Road (SR 1002) to NC 281, an area which mostly meanders along the Tuckasegee River, with the southern portion passing through Tuckasegee.

Supporters hope this project will provide a wider, smoother, and safer ride by widening lane and shoulder widths, improving intersections, and realigning specific areas of NC 107.

However, some are concerned about the potential impacts on the area’s infrastructure. In Jackson County, this project and other expansions will be affecting businesses, land, and home owners.

Property Takings

More than 70 parcels of land will be affected by this project. Currently the DOT has set aside $5,000,000 for right-of-way takings. If your property will be affected, contact one of our eminent domain attorneys for a free case evaluation, or call 1-877-393-4990.

There are only a handful of attorneys in NC who practice eminent domain exclusively, and even fewer with NCDOT experience. We have several. That’s why its worth getting in touch with us for a free case evaluation.

Here’s how it works:

1) Tell us about your situation.

2) We research your property as needed, using DOT maps, our own technology, and experience to see the exact effects.

3) We let you know what we think a fair offer would be. This evaluation is free, and there’s no
pressure or obligation to hire us after.

But please don’t wait to act. Waiting can hurt your case, and the cost is the same: free.
