NC 24/27 Widening From NC 73 to Troy Bypass

Fast Facts

NCDOT TIP # R-2527
Project Type:
 Roadway widening to multilanes
Affected Counties:
 Montgomery
Estimated Cost: $
 62,719,000

Description

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) plans to widen 8.2 miles of NC 24/27 from the east end of the Pee Dee River Bridge to the Troy Bypass.

The highway will be widened from two lanes to four in an effort to improve traffic flow and the level of service on this section of NC 24/27. However, the NCDOT will impose control of access along much of the project’s length, meaning the NCDOT will be allowed to limit where property owners are able to connect to the highway.  Further, some home and business owners may be forced to move to make way for the widened highway.

This upgrade is part of the overall improvement of NC 24/27 in Stanly and Montgomery counties and includes:

R-2530B – Widening NC 24/27 from NC 740 in Albemarle to the Pee Dee River

B-4974 – Replacing Bridge No. 51 over the Pee Dee River

Property Takings

It is estimated that more than 45 parcels of property will be impacted by this project. Currently the NCDOT has set aside $9,437,000 for property acquisitions. If your property will be affected, contact one of our attorneys (four of whom previously worked on behalf of the NCDOT) for a free case evaluation.

There are only a handful of attorneys in NC who practice eminent domain exclusively, and even fewer with NCDOT experience. We have several. That’s why its worth getting in touch with us for a free case evaluation.

Here’s how it works:

1) Tell us about your situation.

2) We research your property as needed, using DOT maps, our own technology, and experience to see the exact effects.

3) We let you know what we think a fair offer would be. This evaluation is free, and there’s no
pressure or obligation to hire us after.

But please don’t wait to act. Waiting can hurt your case, and the cost is the same: free.
