Description

The NCDOT is moving forward with widening NC 65 in Rural Hall from Northridge Park Drive to the US 52 interchange. The project will include medians along much of the project’s length, as well as additional dedicated turn lanes. While the goal is to relieve some of the traffic congestion that builds up in the area, more than 40 properties face eminent domain takings by the NCDOT.

To compensate property owners whose parcels are being partially or entirely taken, the NCDOT has set aside $11.5 million for compensation. The overall budget projection for the project is $21.7 million for the 1.2 mile widening.
