U.S. 258 and Blue Creek Road Intersection
Fast Facts
Project # U-5719
Type: Intersection Improvements
Affected Counties: Onslow
Estimated Cost: $2,795,000
Description
The NCDOT has moved up, a transportation project in southwest Onslow County that would realign a section of Ridge Road (SR 1219) at US 258 (Richlands Highway) to form one intersection across from Blue Creek Road (SR 1396). In addition to the realignment, a right-turn lane onto Ridge Road will be added to US 258 west-bound, as well as a traffic light.
This project is an effort to try to help improve heavy traffic flow and reduce accidents along this stretch of highway, which, at up to four a month, are among the state's highest.
