The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) plans to widen the 1.65-mile stretch of NC 125 from I-95 to Old Farm Road (SR 1745) in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
The department also proposes to build a new 1.4-mile, three-lane road to connect Premier Boulevard with NC 125 at the realigned intersection of 3 Bridges Road and NC 125.
The purpose of the project is to reduce congestion and improve highway access for residents and businesses.

It is estimated that more than 60 parcels of property will be impacted by this project. Currently the NCDOT has set aside $11,761,000 for right-of-way takings.
