NC 273 Widening

Fast Facts

Project# U-3633
Type: Widening
Affected Counties: Gaston
Estimated Cost: $16.25 million

Description

NC 273 widening project proposes to widen approximately 1.3 miles of NC 273 (South Main Street) from Tuckaseege Road (at Beatty Drive) to Highland Street (at A&E Drive) in Mount Holly.

The proposed project will make this stretch of NC 273 a four-lane, median-divided “super street” – meaning it will eliminate the left turn from a side street onto the main street and require vehicles that want to turn left to make a right turn and U-turn instead. The goal is to achieve a more efficient traffic flow and limit the number of left turns to major intersections.

The proposed design also includes making the road more bicycle-friendly by adding wider outside travel lanes and providing sidewalks for pedestrians.

The total projected cost for this project is: $16.25 million.

There are only a handful of attorneys in NC who practice eminent domain exclusively, and even fewer with NCDOT experience. We have several. That’s why its worth getting in touch with us for a free case evaluation.

Here’s how it works:

1) Tell us about your situation.

2) We research your property as needed, using DOT maps, our own technology, and experience to see the exact effects.

3) We let you know what we think a fair offer would be. This evaluation is free, and there’s no
pressure or obligation to hire us after.

But please don’t wait to act. Waiting can hurt your case, and the cost is the same: free.
