NC 54 Widening

Fast Facts

NCDOT TIP # U-5750
Project Type:
 Adding lanes
Affected Counties:
 Wake
Estimated Cost: $
 29,251,000

Description

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) plans to widen approximately 1.3 miles of NC 54 (Chapel Hill Road) from Perimeter Park Drive to Shiloh Glen Drive, which is just west of the NC 540 interchange. The state plans to eventually widen the road all the way through Morrisville to Weston Parkway, but is starting with this stretch.

Currently, NC 54 is a two-lane road through Morrisville and is overwhelmed with RTP commuters from Cary and Morrisville. There would be an additional lane in both directions, new turn lanes, a median, and a new entrance ramp from Litchin Road onto northbound NC 540. A multi-use path on the east side of the road will extend from Perimeter Park Drive to Shiloh Glen Drive.

Property Takings

It is estimated that more than 30 parcels of property will be impacted by this project. Currently the NCDOT has set aside $9,236,000 for right-of-way takings. If your property will be affected, contact one of our attorneys (four of whom previously worked on behalf of the NCDOT) for a free case evaluation.

There are only a handful of attorneys in NC who practice eminent domain exclusively, and even fewer with NCDOT experience. We have several. That’s why its worth getting in touch with us for a free case evaluation.

Here’s how it works:

1) Tell us about your situation.

2) We research your property as needed, using DOT maps, our own technology, and experience to see the exact effects.

3) We let you know what we think a fair offer would be. This evaluation is free, and there’s no
pressure or obligation to hire us after.

But please don’t wait to act. Waiting can hurt your case, and the cost is the same: free.
